Your mission 

The Medical Communications & Training Manager will co-lead with the Medical Affairs Field Team and Therapeutic Area Teams the development and execution of medical communication strategy for all internal and external Medical Affairs channels (in an innovative and omni channel approach).  This role will create synergies and work cross-functionally with other strategic departments of the Company to drive and execute strategic scientific communication activities that meet external needs and are aligned with Therapeutic Areas for launch assets/disease area.

The Medical Communications & Training Manager will also be responsible of the scientific training programs for medical associates and internal stakeholders in alignment with Global training strategy by co-creating, delivering and coordinating new hire onboarding scientific training with advanced and ongoing skills training.

In both functions, this role will require an innovative approach to define multi/omnichannel tactics by adapting content and formats according to target audience, objective of the communication and channel.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Medical Communication Strategies:

    • Co-Create the Medical Affairs Strategic communication plan with the Medial Affairs therapeutic Area team.
    • Leads the supervision and execution of medical scientific communication adapting content and format to audiences and current available channels (multi/omnichannel approach).
    • Track and report key milestone metrics and KPIs to the Strategic Communication Plan.
    • Lead an annual assessment of knowledge gaps in a systematic way with Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area teams to identify a plan for content creation.
    • Manage Materials expirations and maintain a scientific material database and establish a routine approach for keeping materials updated (including MSL decks and training decks).
    • Maintain inventory of all corporate Scientific materials to avoid duplicative materials and reviews.
    • Manage content creation vendors procedures, ensure citations are complete and all finances related to the project are in order
    • Point of contact for legal and regulatory on communication/training material review.
    • Develop Launch plan for Strategic Medical Communication activities (e.g., MSL Training plan, training resources, gap analysis…

     

  • Manage Medical Training Programs:

    • Develop a training strategy and training content in conjunction with TA and In-field leadership.
    • Pull through global training programs to MSLs and maintain training roadmap for field team in alignment with People.
    • Develop innovative learning approaches to current business needs, including interactive, distance and new formats (i.e., podcasts, masterclasses, competitor roadmaps).
    • Onboard all new employees on Scientific content according to the scientific training policy.
    • MSL training and distribution plan for new Med Info materials.
    • Identify training needs for Medical Affairs teams and other internal stakeholders (including not scientific skills or capabilities) and collaborate with People to cover these (by using existing or new resources)
    • Coordinate and deliver training sessions, workshops, and webinars on medical product knowledge, disease states, clinical data, and other relevant topics.
    • Collaborate with medical affairs and clinical research teams to ensure the training materials reflect the latest scientific advancements and clinical trial data.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback surveys, and performance metrics.
    • Ownership of scientific training platforms.

Requirements

What you’ll need to succeed

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a scientific or healthcare-related field is required.
  • Strong knowledge of medical science, pharmacology, and clinical research.
  • Experience in medical communications and in training experience with distance learning preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex medical information to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with regulations, guidelines, and compliance requirements governing pharmaceutical promotional activities.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong digital skills:
    • Capability to use digital technology provided by the organisation.
    • Confident and competent with digital compliance requirements.
    • Experience in using a range of digital platforms.
    • Basic understanding of core digital metrics used by the organisation.
    • Awareness and integration of digital channels to meet our customer needs.
