Your mission 

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) serves as the primary field-based point of contact for external stakeholders, and is responsible for providing non-promotional scientific, educational, and research support for company’s products. Primary focus of this role are the ability to identify and engage with thought leaders in Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) and Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) or Neurology therapeutic areas and gathering actionable medical insights.

The MSL identifies, develops, and maintains long-term collaborative partnerships with external stakeholders and institutions to provide scientific support for current and future company’s portfolio activities. They will ensure effective communication and collaboration across a multifunctional team to meet company’s and HCPs needs and ultimately contributes towards the best patient care in an efficient and compliant manner.

As an MSL this person will be, aligned with the Therapeutic Areas, responsible for delivering and facilitating medical education and communications, research, and scientific insight gathering activities as permissible by local laws and regulations. Other notable responsibilities are to support and implement the Expanded Access Programs.

To be successful, the MSL must be able to work in a matrix setting internally mainly with the Therapeutic Area, but also with Corporate Marketing, Market Access and Pricing, while establishing stable liaison relations with key HCPs in the external environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, develops and manages excellent long-term partnerships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and other prominent HCPs and stakeholders as they relate to the therapeutic area.
  • Identifies, collects, and communicates medical insights related to treatment trends, clinical practice trends, research and market landscape including key insights from medical conferences and provides cross functional feedback internally
  • Engages in scientific exchange with HCPs regarding the efficacy, safety and value of the products and related clinical practice trends in unbiased, non-promotional scientific manner.
  • Communicates scientific, clinical and disease state information and education to a variety of audiences (KOLs, HCPs, hospital/decision making teams, etc.) upon requests and/or according to medical plan and objectives as permissible by local laws and regulations.
  • Under the guidance of the therapeutic areas, conduct and implement a comprehensive disease awareness tactical plan within the respective geography.
  • Provide optimal support to our client’s unsolicited requests for Early Access Programs (EAPs), training and ongoing support to participating centres.
  • Responds to unsolicited requests for information, including scientific literature, protocols/guidelines, and peer to peer connections according to company compliance policies
  • Attendance to medical scientific congresses and conventions
  • Under the guidance of the therapeutic areas, contributes to the implementation in the field of the medical Plans defined in the Brand Plans
  • Identifies potential researchers and/or clinical sites
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with Principal Investigators (PIs) and clinical trial sites to support the enrolment and conduct of Ferrer clinical studies
  • Maintains personal expertise in MSL best practices, maintain high standards of compliance and integrity with external and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need to succeed 

 

You will rock at this company if you are a person with empathy, humility, curiosity, proactivity, optimism and you are a team player.

You will rock at this role if you match with:

  • University Degree in health or life science areas (example: MD, PharmD, PhD)
  • At least 3/4 years of experience as an MSL or similar roles in the medical department.
  • Previous Therapeutic Area experience in Pulmonary Hypertension, Interstitial Lung Diseases, Neuromuscular Disorders is highly desirable. Alternatively, previous experience in Rare Diseases.
  • Knowledge of EFPIA and national codes of conduct guidelines, especially those that apply to Medical Affairs.
  • Understanding of GCP guidelines specially in the scope of:
    • Phase II-IV company sponsored interventional trials
    • RWE generation: Non-interventional trials, Early Access Programs/Named Patient Programs, Investigator Sponsored Research Support
  • Good communication skills in English and languages of supported countries
  • Excellent presentation, communication skills
  • Product launch and market access support experience is highly desirable
  • Previous experience in managing Early Access Program is also desirable
  • Availability to travel within the country and abroad
  • Communication skills to different stakeholders and across different channels
  • External engagement competencies, including networking and stakeholders mapping & management
  • Sense of responsibility and accountability, quality orientation
