Your mission

The Senior Formulation Development Manager will be responsible to lead and manage all the formulation and process development activities within the Pharmaceutical Development Department.

As Senior Formulation Development Manager you will lead a team of Senior Scientists in the formulation development of new products and reformulation of products already marketed.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate and manage the Formulation Development Team, composed of 6 people, in performing drug development projects to ensure the correct advance
  • Provide scientific and technical expertise into selection of new formulations and manufacturing processes
  • Ensure that Formulation Development activities are conducted in compliance with the internal SOPs, the current GMPs and Health and Safety requirements
  • Ensure that formulation development data generated during development are enough for regulatory filings and performing formulation development activities according to the current regulatory guidelines. Write or review formulation and manufacturing development sections for the regulatory filings
  • Ensure that Pilot Plant space and equipment are adequate, qualified as needed, and safe. Ensure that all the staff is adequately trained and updated
  • Coordinate, along with Pilot Plant Supervisor, all the Pilot Plant works and prioritize the most important activities taking into account the relevance of each and their timelines
  • Work closely with the Analytical Development Team on key aspects of the pharmaceutical development
  • Lead, supervise and collaborate with other involved areas, in all the activities related to technological transfers to ensure the correct progress

Requirements

Background and experience:

  • MS/PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent
  • At least, 10 years of experience in formulation development activities, from preformulation work to technological transfer activities
  • At least 3-5 years of leadership experience at the department and/or larger team level, including recruiting/coaching high performing teams
  • Proven Leadership ability
  • Strong background in formulation and process development
  • Proven track record of successful formulation development
  • Working understanding of GMP and regulatory guidelines applicable to the products development
  • Experience with EMA and other regulatory Agencies in regulatory filings, deficiencies letters and clarifications
  • Experience and knowledge across a broad range of different pharmaceutical dosage forms including conventional, non-conventional dosage forms and combination products
