Job description

Your mission 

As a Scientific Communications Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing Ferrer’s global scientific communication strategy in close collaboration with the Medical Affairs Therapeutic Areas. Your mission is to deliver accurate, engaging, and impactful scientific content across multiple channels and audiences. This role is crucial to ensuring our scientific messages are consistent, strategic, and aligned with both external needs and Ferrer’s medical objectives. 

You will be part of the Scientific Knowledge Management department and will report to the Head of Scientific Knowledge Management, within Corporate Medical Affairs. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Co-develop and lead scientific communication plans in partnership with therapeutic areas team with medical affairs. 
  • Create high-quality scientific content, including slide decks, infographics, and internal communication pieces tailored to different stakeholders including Health Care Professionals HCPs. 
  • Contribute as an active member of the Scientific Publications Committee, ensuring scientific accuracy, ethics and compliance, and adherence to internal quality standards for all scientific publications. 
  • Collaborate with internal authors and stakeholders to support publication strategy and provide scientific guidance throughout the manuscript and communication development process. 
  • Identify innovative communication formats and channels (digital, omnichannel, social media) to enhance scientific exchange and maximize reach. 
  • Act as the point of contact between Medical Affairs and Corporate Communication for both internal (Ferrer team) and external scientific communications (owned and earned channels). 
  • Support the planning and delivery of internal and external scientific events and ensure message consistency across formats. 
  • Ensure all scientific materials comply with regulatory, compliance, and ethical standards (e.g., GPP, ICMJE, Ferrer internal guidelines). 
  • Track, evaluate and report communication performance through key performance indicators. 
  • Collaborate closely with the Scientific Training Lead, ensuring alignment between scientific communication activities and training needs. This synergy will allow the training team to build and deliver impactful educational initiatives based on the latest scientific content and communication outputs. Your interaction will be key to transform knowledge into learning experiences that support Ferrer’s strategic medical goals. 
  • Partner with therapeutic areas and field medical operations to drive scientific engagement activities at congresses and with scientific societies, ensuring communication materials and key messages are aligned with communication strategic plan.

Requirements

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc) in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, or related field 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Scientific/Medical Communications roles in the pharmaceutical industry, agency, or related setting 
  • Sound knowledge of medical publication standards, regulatory environment, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GPP, ICMJE) 
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills 
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to navigate across cross-functional teams 
  • Experience in scientific storytelling across digital, print, and omnichannel platforms 
  • High attention to detail and ability to translate complex data into clear messages 
  • Strong collaborative and proactive attitude, with a drive to learn and improve
