Job description

Responsible for mechanical service calls and in-house repairs throughout facility and grounds. Performs work in one or more maintenance trades including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting. Performs routine equipment repair and installation of office fixtures. Makes periodic or special inspections of premises to determine repair work necessary. 

 

Responsibilities

  • General:
    • Perform planned maintenance on Stability Chambers.
    • Perform planned monthly filter maintenance on Air Handlers and Air Conditioners.
    • Document all planned and on-demand maintenance in the designated log and/or software work order.
    • Performs daily rounds and alerts Facilities Manager of any issues and out of range equipment reading
    • Reviews Environmental Monitoring System for alarms and reviews trend data for out of range readings.
    • Reviews Building Management System for alarms and reviews trend data for out of range readings.
    • Supports the Facility Manager by escorting and assisting service providers for service calls related to building systems, fire systems, infrastructure, campus, and laboratory equipment.
    • Supports the environmental health and safety program by working with the supervisors for containment and logistics of hazardous chemicals.
    • Tracks and responds to Facilities Requests and coordinates with employees on building issues and problems.
    • Set up and restoration of common space seating for company meetings.
    • Required to respond to building alarm notifications and respond to after-hours emergency calls.
    • Available to work extra hours as needed and on weekends for departmental projects or emergencies
  • Asset Management:
    • Scheduling and assisting the service providers in the cGMP Operations preventative maintenance and calibration programs.
    • The full documentation life cycle support for the calibration and maintenance programs, both paper and electronic based systems.
    • Maintain the maintenance and calibration service reports in the Asset Management Software.
    • Excellent communication skills when working with internal and external customers in regard to the calibration and maintenance program.
    • Ability to predict resource requirements based on schedules from asset management software.

Skills required

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Able to follow detailed verbal and written work instructions.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand and power tools
  • Ability to communicate complex and detailed information for successful resolution of building and equipment maintenance.
  • Able to work on ladders.
  • Control of Hazardous Energy Training
  • Ability to use and learn a wide variety of computer applications including MS office, Excel, PowerPoint, computerized asset tracking systems, building management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with internal and external personnel
  • Beginning understanding of building systems, and the knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks

Education and experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience and 2 years of related experience for level II
  • AA, Technical degree in Electrical, Electronic, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Potentially prolonged periods standing
  • Must be able to lift up to 35-40 pounds at times
  • Must be willing to travel

Compensation:

Hourly rate for this role starts at $35 per hour. Individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including, and without limitation, job-related skills, experience, work location and relevant education or training. Our compensation package also includes diverse health benefits, an LTI plan, and an annual target bonus for full-time positions.
