Your mission

By joining the Ferrer Patent Team, within the Legal Area, you will improve the protection of our medical devices and pharmaceuticals and reduce the risks of infringement of them.

Responsibilities

Carrying out the selection of new projects.
Design of protection strategies for products under development.
Drafting of patentability reports and freedom-to-operate opinions.
Drafting and prosecution of patent applications.
Performing prior art searches.
Participation in opposition and litigation proceedings, and active support to our internal and external clients.

Requirements

What you’ll need to succeed

You will rock at this company if you are a person with empathy, humility, curiosity and optimism.

You will rock at this role if you match with:

Background: a patent professional capable of dealing with mechanical, electrical, software, materials, and fluid science aspects of medical devices and ideally also its pharmaceutical aspects. Chemical Engineers, dual graduates in Chemistry and Physics, or someone with an equivalent background or experience would be a suitable candidate.
Experience: minimum experience of 3 years in a similar position.
Skills (technical): experience in prior art searching (PatBase, STN, SciFinder, etc.) is required, advanced knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook). Qualification as a European Patent Attorney, at least partially, would be a plus.
Skills (soft): excellent communication skills, teamwork and adaptability to change.
Languages: professional English
